Project rated "very good"
Laurin Murer got the "very good" rating for his SJf project.
Our apprentice Laurin Murer participated in the 43rd national young researcher competition "Jugendliche schaffen Wissen", organised by the "Schweizer Jugend forscht" foundation on 25th April 2009. His project "ReOrg - a model railway cleans itself up" competed against 67 other projects and achieved the "very good" rating. The supervising expert wrote (translated from German) "In this project, an automatic controller for directing vehicles on a model railway was implemented. An optimisation algorithm enables the fastest possible arrival of all trains to their target positions while respecting certain safety conditions. The work of Laurin Murer is based on solid software development knowledge and the choice of an appropriate algorithm which was implemented and extended into an innovative and practical application".
